Description:
Opening one of the files of the magnifier it showed the file as a blank line. Editing the file in that state would probably destroy it (irrelevant if your file is under versioning system). Adding {%encoding utf-8} with an external editor solved it.
But this was probably a impossible file to detect as utf-8, because it has both utf-8 and iso, ifdefed for fpc and delphi and no bom =)
The expected behavior, as observed in most editors, would have been that only the lines which are non-ascii (the vast majority of the file is ascii) would have been shown wrongly.
The best possible world would be if I could open the file with Lazarus, see that some strings are shown wrong, add a {%encoding utf-8} at it's top, save it without loose information from the non-ascii lines, re-open it, and now see it correctly.
