Description:
Lazarus revision 16874, FPC 2.2.2, Mac OS X 10.5.4
* Summary
I admit I don't know how "incremental search" is intended to work (nor how this kind of functionality usually behaves in apps on other platforms), but since its functionality is bound to cmd-e in the "Mac OS X (Apple Style)" key bindings scheme, I assume it's supposed to work like "Use Selection for Find" in other Mac apps (as that's what cmd-e is bound to there).
Steps to reproduce:
- select a word, e.g. by double-clicking it
- press cmd-e ("Incremental Search")
- press cmd-g ("Find Next")
Expected results:
* after step 2, the selection should remain and should become the new search pattern
* after step 3, the next instance of the selection is found
Actual results:
* after step 2, the selection is cleared
* after step 3, nothing whatsoever happens
Notes
* If "Incremental Find" is supposed to immediately search for the next instance of the selection, then
a) this also doesn't work for me
b) it shouldn't be bound to cmd-e in the standard Mac OS X key bindings scheme
* if I choose plain "Find" after step 2, then the selection is actually filled in as the word to search for and pressing return or clicking the "Find" button does find the word
