In 3.1.1. of the RG char
is listed as as a predefined integer type without further explanation.
Additional information:
I mean, of course you can write myChar := #42;
, but as far as I understand the hash instructs the compiler to interpret the integer to come differently. More importantly, I can’t write something like #4 * #6
, I can’t calculate with char
values. Hence I think it’s utterly wrong to call a char
an integer type. If it is anyway, this needs explanation.
