Description:
When compiling the example program provided :-)
with FP 1.00 for Win32 the the following options
PPC386 -CX -XX -a bug1076.pas
the compiler aborts with the following messages:
Free Pascal Compiler version 1.00 [2000/07/10] for i386
Copyright (c) 1993-2000 by Florian Klaempfl
Note: Switching assembler to default source writing assembler
Target OS: Win32 for i386
Compiling bug1076.pas
Assembling bug1076
Assembling smartlink bug1076
bug1076.pas(5) Warning: Can't call the assembler, error 18 switching to external assembling
bug1076.pas(5) Fatal: There were 1 errors compiling module, stopping
Closing script ppas.bat
Just to clear understanding: the GNU assembler is installed properly,
and everything works fine without the -a option!
Furthermore, the bug seems to be Windows-specific. The GO32V2 and
Linux compilers are working correctly with and without the -a option.
