Description:
The iformation I'm able to give you may or may not be sufficient for you to solve this problem.
I use a file editor, which offer the facility of executing a dos command and "capturing" its output in a normal (non-DOS) window.-- This enables me to run the compiler with the source file, open in the editor, as an argument, and also to then run the exe file generated by the compiler. The window which captures the output, will remain there for me to see after the programs have terminated.
Now if the PP file used to build the EXE that is being run that way, 'uses' the crt unit, that facility (of capturing the output) is no longer there;the moment the EXE cuts in, the "capturing" stops.
Unfortunately I don't have the sources for the editor so this is all I can say, and hope you can figure out how this editor manages to capture the output, and go from there.
I presume this is a bug, because the editor is otherwise working well with the Free Pascal and other (C++ and HLA) compilers.
I've downloaded the editor here: http://www.lancs.ac.uk/people/cpaap/pfe.
I'm using a snapshot just days old.
Regards.
